Tool Backboard

Episode 21: The importance of tool storage

Richard Quinton

Welcome to episode 21 of The DIY Help Desk.

In today’s episode, I continue my efforts to improve the garage workshop and look at tool storage and how to make a simple tool backboard for all your most useful tools.

Having your tools to ready to hand and easily accessible makes life in the workshop and for DIY projects much better, you can save time by not having to hunt through drawers or boxes looking for tools that you need.

Poor tool organization can also mean that things get damaged especially when they are thrown in a drawer or fall off the workbench as you run out of space

Keeping things clean is easier and workshop life is generally much more enjoyable when you can quickly lay your hands on your tools.

Putting put a simple backboard up to hold the tools you use regularly is a quick and cost-effective way to organize and store tools, from something as simple as a plywood board or to a complete shop bought system there are loads of options

In today’s episode, I talk you through the steps needed to layout and use a tool backboard so that you can get the most out of your garage workshop space

Make sure you look out for next week’s episode.
